About Marlene
I am an Education and Motivational Professional. I have worked in the Cosmetic | Wellness | Spa industries pioneering sales education and product knowledge methodologies to maximize ROI. My passion and my skills are reflected in driving sales to enhance profitability. I am a dynamic, passionate sales and motivational trainer whose infectious enthusiasm empowers sales staff and creates brand excitement. I have experienced extensive success advancing organizational objectives by working productively with senior management and corporate leaders. I have a proven ability to introduce new ways of thinking into entrenched organizations. In my Sales/Training career, I've worked for large cosmetic companies including Jurlique Holistic Skin Care, Origins Natural Resources, Lancôme, Biotherm, and additionally owned my own business as a licensed Cosmetologist.
Simplicity of Selling Program
I have worked all of my life in the selling profession. My many years of sales experience guided me to create a program that makes a difference. This program is an Advanced Selling Skills seminar called the Simplicity of Selling and focuses on Customer Care, motivating others, communication skills, problem-solving, and building confidence in sales professionals. With my polished presentation delivery the Simplicity of Selling inspires individuals to go beyond preconceived limits. It involves teaching selling skills using interactional role-playing as a training tool. Those that have attended this selling seminar have been impacted both personally and professionally. The increase in sales is immediate and in most cases the result is as much or more than 67% increase in average unit sales.
I originally developed the program during my employment with Origins Natural Resources, an Estee Lauder company. Due to overwhelming success and expanded scope of this program, I received the Education Manager of the Year Award. The Simplicity of Selling program was so successful that it soon became a nationwide program, and then went global. I trained 8 education team peers to take it to major markets in the U.S., (including Rebirth of the Brand event), and global affiliates. As guardian of the Origins brand, I was chosen to open markets in Puerto Rico and Spain. I was invited to return to Spain in 2007 to further develop staff and present my Advanced Selling Skills program.
Expertise
I have created a unique educational technique that combines interactional sales and product training. I instituted significant cost savings through strong vendor negotiations and new training venues. I have repeatedly generated new business through high-impact, infectiously enthusiastic presentations. During my employment with Jurlique Holistic Skin Care, to increase revenue and Brand Awareness in the absence of a National Sales Manager, I executed a crucial brand roll-out to 78+ Sephora retail locations, meeting a critical 6-week deadline and preserved favorable relations with the key account. I developed a hard-hitting train-the-trainer program for account executives and retail trainers to carry education efforts to the field. I was instrumental in signing on 5 new locations, delivering high-impact, well-received presentation to corporate staff and store managers at the San Francisco Whole Foods store that sparked enthusiasm for the product line. I also generated sales through appearance as on-air Jurlique spokesperson for the QVC home-shopping network in 2009.
Leadership
I was selected as the product expert for Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins campaign launch, a product line that represented 20% of the total product collection. I trained the education team to lead distribution channel training seminars for Dr. Weil's nutritional supplements. I personally worked with Dr. Weil during the production of a brand video. I was chosen early on by colleagues and VP Global Education as Lead Education Manager, based on impeccable standards. I mentored each Regional Education Manager and coached Account Coordinators for promotions throughout the Estee Lauder organization. I openly accepted opportunities to lead training and education programs throughout the entire nation. I planned all logistics and negotiated all terms to reduce each event costs by thousands of dollars. I am Bilingual: Spanish. It is a learned language for me that I acquired during my senior year of high school as a representative of Rotaract International in Cordoba, Argentina SA and when given the honor of opening Spain and Puerto Rico markets for Origins Natural Resources, I then revisited the language and perfected my speaking and writing abilities and presented all programs in these markets in Spanish. I was Media Trained through the Estee Lauder Corp. in 2008 to represent Origins Natural Resources.
